Phlebotomists

A blood test usually involves the phlebotomist taking a blood sample from a blood vessel in your arm. The usual place for a sample is the inside of the elbow or wrist, where the veins are relatively close to the surface. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Patient Coordinators

Patient Coordinators provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. Like all members of the team, they are bound by the same confidentiality rules meaning that any information given by you is strictly confidential. Patient Coordinators make most of the patient appointments in addition to other important tasks such as prescription enquiries, registering patients, distributing dispensed prescriptions and taking payments. It is important that they ask the reason for your call so that they can provide information and direct you to the most appropriate clinician or service depending on your health issue or query. However, if you feel an issue is very private and do not wish to give the reason for your call/appointment request then this will be respected.
