Patient Coordinators provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. Like all members of the team they are bound by the same confidentiality rules meaning that any information given by you is strictly confidential. Patient Coordinators make most of the patient appointments in addition to other important tasks such as prescription enquiries, registering patients, distributing dispensed prescriptions and taking payments.
It is important that they ask the reason for your call so that they can provide information and direct you to the most appropriate clinician or service depending on your health issue or query. However, if you feel an issue is very private and do not wish to give the reason for your call/appointment request then this will be respected.
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
